Tom Welling as Clark Kent

Tom Welling made his series-starring debut in Smallville as a teenage Clark Kent struggling to come to grips with his emerging super powers. Welling made his feature film debut last Christmas, starring with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt in the family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen.

Born and raised in New York, Welling landed his first big break in 1999 with a six-episode romantic arc opposite Amy Brenneman on Judging Amy. He landed the role of Smallville's Clark Kent after a nationwide search for a fresh face to play the part.

Welling has relocated to Vancouver while filming the series.

Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang

Hometown: Vancouver, BC

Kristin Kreuk stars as Clark Kent's star-crossed love Lana Lang in Smallville. Next up for Kreuk is the mini-series Earthsea, with Isabella Rossellini and Danny Glover.

Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kreuk began acting in high school plays, but focused more on her schoolwork than the stage. Fate came calling at the beginning of her senior year, when a casting director looking for new talent for the television series Edgemont tapped Kreuk for a starring role. It was her first professional audition.

Kreuk starred on Edgemont for four seasons. Currently, Kreuk is one of the faces of Neutrogena.

Kreuk currently lives in Vancouver and, when not working, enjoys reading and spending time with friends.

Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luther

Self-assured and possessed with a rapid-fire sense of humor, Michael Rosenbaum shaved his blond locks for the role he seems born to play - a young Lex Luthor in Smallville. Next up for Rosenbaum is Wes Craven's thriller Cursed, with Christina Ricci, set to be released early 2005.

Born in Oceanside, New York, and raised in Newburgh, Indiana, Rosenbaum excelled in high school drama classes. Once hooked, he took on lead roles in college stage productions such as The Heidi Chronicles while attending Western Kentucky University and performing in regional theater during his summers.

Upon graduation with a degree in Mass Communications and Theater, he packed his bags and headed for New York to pursue acting. He quickly landed roles in off-Broadway productions and small independent films, and soon segued into regular appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in a sketch called The Amsterdam Kids.

Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan

Hometown: Long Beach, CA

Now beginning her fourth season on The WB's acclaimed drama Smallville, Allison Mack stars as Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) best friend. Mack's role continues to grow this season with the arrival of Lois Lane (Erica Durance) and the ever-complicated love triangle between Clark, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and Chloe.

Mack also starred in Showtime's critically acclaimed feature My Horrible Year! This story follows the intricate and turbulent life of a teenage girl as she turns sixteen. Mack, who brought years of training and experience to the project, proved to be the perfect fit for Eric Stoltz's directorial debut. The story was written and directed by Eric Stoltz and also starred Karen Allen and Mimi Rogers.

Since beginning her career at age 4 in her first commercial for "German Chocolate," Mack has continued to be a busy working actress with an impressive roster of television roles. She garnered much attention for her portrayal of a teenager who abuses and inflicts wounds to her wrist on The WB's Seventh Heaven. In the fall of 2000, Allison starred in The WB's The Nightmare Room, and The Opposite Sex, as well as a recurring role in Evening Shade. Allison also starred in Disney's feature Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and Camp Nowhere.

Jensen Ackles as Jason Teague

Recently listed as one of E! Online's "Sizzlin' 16 of 2004" and YM magazine's "Hottest Guys of 2003," Jensen Ackles is a young actor on the rise. Ackles will next be seen this fall as Jason Teague, love interest to Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) in The WB's Smallville.

Ackles will make his big screen debut later this year in Sony Pictures' Devour, opposite Dominique Swain and Shannon Sossymon. The film was directed by David Winkler.

Ackles was most recently seen on Dawson's Creek in a recurring role and on Dark Angel as a series regular. His additional work in television includes co-starring in the mini-series Blonde, opposite Poppy Montgomery and Patrick Dempsey.

John Schneider as Jonathan Kent

John Schneider is a multi-talented performer with credits spanning television, film, music and the stage. Best known for his role as Bo Duke on the popular television series The Dukes of Hazzard, Schneider stars in Smallville as Jonathan Kent, father to a teenage Clark Kent.

Schneider starred for six seasons as one of the fast-driving, fun-loving cousins of the Duke clan on the hugely popular '80s comedy-adventure series The Dukes of Hazzard. He reprised his beloved role in the television movie The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood. Schneider was also a series regular on the family drama Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and the syndicated drama Heaven Help Us.

Recently, Schneider directed and starred in the original television movie Mary Christmas, with Cynthia Gibb. He also has appeared in numerous other original television movies, including Michael Landon, the Father I Knew, True Women, Night of the Twisters, The Legend of Ruby Silver, Texas and Desperate Journey. He can also be heard as the voice of the lead character in Kids' WB!'s animated series The Mummy.

Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent

Annette O'Toole played Lana Lang, the girl Clark Kent left behind in his youth, in the big-screen feature Superman III. Now she has taken a new place in the Superman saga playing the mother to teenage Clark Kent in The WB action-adventure series Smallville.

A talented songwriter as well as an accomplished actress, O'Toole and her husband Michael McKean were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the feature film A Mighty Wind.

Born in Houston, Texas, O'Toole started dancing at the early age of 3. At 13, her family moved to Los Angeles and she began taking acting lessons. Her first big break came when she starred in the 1975 feature film Smile, as a conniving beauty pageant contestant. Since then, O'Toole has appeared on the big screen in 48 Hrs, playing Nick Nolte's character's girlfriend, the 1982 remake of Cat People, directed by Paul Schrader, Here on Earth, with Chris Klein and Leelee Sobieski, One on One, King of the Gypsies, Cross My Heart and Love at Large.
